Nestled on a scenic ridge near historic Stampede Pass, Meany lodge is the oldest of the Mountaineer's ski lodges. Situated near the meandering Yakima River, and surrounded by the lush, peaceful Wenatchee National Forest, it is a welcome respite from the chaos of cities and commercial ski areas.
Meany hosts a 450 ft vertical drop, private ski slope. The slope has a total of 32 downhill runs. Access to the runs is via the only certified rope tow west of the Rockies. Novice and intermediate skiers/snowboarders enjoy the four groomed runs, while advanced and experts cat take advantage of a variety of non-groomed (up to double black diamond) and back-country runs. The Meany campus encompasses approximately one mile of groomed cross-country trails, with additional trails winding through the surrounding landscape to a variety of destinations. Stampede Pass, the weather station, and Mt. Frances are all within easy distance of the lodge.
Besides winter sports, Meany offers a variety of scheduled activities throughout the year:
MOFA classes are held in
the Spring and Fall.
First Aid courses, offered
during the winter ski season provides a variety of information geared to all types of outdoor
activity.
Family hiking weekend , held the first weekend in August, where picking and eating luscious
wild strawberries and juicy huckleberries is a real favorite for kids of all ages.
Meany Bike Trip, held
in mid-August; A trip along the old Milwaukee RailRoad right a way, from North Bend to Meany and
back.
Mushroom weekend , held the third weekend in October is a fantastic way to learn everything
you want to know about mushrooms, (picking thru cooking).
If you are looking to hold a secluded seminar or a rustic day/weekend retreat, Whether it be
Northwest Trackers, Sierra Club, a school function, a family reunion or even a
wedding, our rates, starting at $35 per person
for room/board are unbeatable. The lodge sleeps up to 97 in a hostel style environment. It's
large gathering room and multiple smaller classrooms can accommodate a variety needs. Meany
can handle most audio/video or computer needs, all you need to do is ask. The committee can also
provide you with the services of a registered organization development consultant to help you
