What's Happening with Family Hiking Weekend?

Welcome to Meany Lodge, activity central for a fun-filled weekend for people of all ages. We hope you enjoy this weekend so much that this will be the first of many visits to Meany. It is such a grand place whether you are 1 or 100.

We will update this page whenever there is new information about Meany Lodge Family Hiking Weekend.

Cheers

Dog sledding demonstration

Michael and Doreen Johnston will bring their sled dogs to Meany on Saturday, August 4, for a special afternoon/evening program. Saturday afternoon after the hike, they will put the team to work and demonstrate summer pulling. After dinner, they will give a presentation in the lodge about dog sledding.

What a treat to have Michael and Doreen come to Family Hiking Weekend and bring their dog team. This will be a great opportunity for us to learn about this winter recreation with which we share the forests and trails around Meany.

The Johnston's and their dogs will stay near the telephone cabin, the forested area below the tow hut away from the main lodge area. For more information about the program, check out our Dog sled program page.

New web pages

Sojin and I are busy working with volunteers and hike leaders to make Family Hiking Weekend better then ever. We are adding hikes and programs to the usual fun and food that comes standard at Meany Lodge. When we get commitments from the volunteers, we will post a schedule of events.

We added the following pages to the web site to help answer your questions. What you need to know has all the information that you need to know before you leave home. This page has additional links to the summer driving directions and frequently asked questions pages.
