Meany Cook bios

Thanks to the dedication of a group of volunteers, Meany is humbly honored to have our very own exceptional cooking staff, led by Head Chef Ray Hecox. The motto of the chefs is"

    "If you leave Meany hungry.......Well, it is your fault"
Using our fully functional, extremely large kitchen, each of our meals is prepared from scratch. All out cooks strive to provide for anyone. Food intolerances/allegies or special dietary requirements are a norm for them. This page is in deep appreciation to all of them for their hard work.





The kitchen is manged by Head Chef Ray Hecox. Ray has a passion for cooking. He prevously ran a catering service so has extensive experience in cooking for large groups. He has three goals when he cooks. 1) every one has enough to eat, 2) all diets are accounted for and 3) that the meals are tasty. These three goals are met regurely every weekend. He is also very considerate and kind in allowing anyone to help in the kitchen (even children). Everyone that does kitchen duty comes away happy.




Jo Evans (Art Freeman's lovely and better half) loves volunteering in the kitchen because of the "Meany family" attitudes and more important, it allows Ray to go and Ski. She chose to do kitchen duty because it threw her into the thick of things and her to experience a re-awaking and recharing of herself simply by her interactions with the people at Meany. See you said Meany wasn't fun :-)
